Zhaoliang Song is a professor of Institute of the Surface-Earth System Science, Tianjin University, China. He has completed his PhD at the age of 28 years from Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include carbon sequestration from enhanced mineral weathering, coupled biogeochemical cycles of carbon and silicon, phytolith carbon sequestration, phytolith geochemistry, phytolith and geochemical record of climate change. As a first and/or corresponding author, he has published 27 papers in SCI journals (Average IF=3.6) including 9 papers published in international top SCI journals such as Global Change Biology (IF=8.444) and Earth-Science Reviews (IF=6.991) and has been selected as experts to review papers for many SCI journals such as Plant and Soil, Scientific Reports, Functional Ecology, Science of the Total Environment, European Journal of Soil Science.

Hasan Arman is a Professor at United Arab Emirates University, College of Science, Geology Department since 2008. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Hacettepe University, Turkey in 1984 and PhD degree from University of Arizona, USA in 1992. He worked as a Postdoc at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA from 1992 to 1993. He was as a faculty member at Sakarya University, Civil Engineering Department, Turkey between 1993 and 2008. He has been teaching several different courses in undergraduate and graduate levels related to engineering, environment, geology and energy.

Elias Salameh is a professor of hydrogeology and hydrochemistry at the University of Jordan. He obtained his Doctor of Science degree from the Technical University of Munich/ Germany and from the same University his M. Sc. in Applied Geology. His second M. Sc. in Geophysics was received from The Ludwig Maximillian University of Munich/Germany. Prof. Salameh obtained his Professorship from the University of Jordan in 1985. During his work he published more than 230 research articles mostly published in international journals. He supervised some 50 Ph. D. and 120 M. Sc. Theses. In 2006, He with other colleagues discovered the first large meteoritic impact site in the Middle East and North Africa; in Jordan/ Waqf as Suwwan area. He founded the Water Research and Study Center at the University of Jordan and served as its director from 1983 to 1992. In 2004 and 2005 Professor Salameh served as the Chairman of the Founding Committee of the German /Jordanian University. He has been serving as a member of the Royal Committee on Water since its formation in 2007. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Balqa Applied University from 2008- 2015. Professor Salameh was decorated with the First Class Order of Merits from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2006 and with many other local and international orders of merits.
